Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I m going to make this short and understandable, hopefully... Basically I can hear voices but not see anyone. I guess I would kinda qualify my other personality as a part of it, her name is Mandy, and she won t leave me alone. I don t know what to do and it s honestly scaring me. Hopefully this was easy to understand...
The sound you have described may be due to some psychotic process. Mostly in cases of auditory hallucinations such type of sounds may be heard. Individual may hear sound but will not find anyone. The hallucinations must not be ignored. They may be a sign of some serious process or disease like schizophrenia. Please visit a good Psychiatrist for for proper evaluation.
There are many things that can cause someone to "hear voices." For some people and in some cultures this kind of experience is not necessarily abnormal, especially if it does not interfere with ability to function and take care of your daily activities. Your report that the voices are scaring you suggest to me that you need a full medical and psychiatric examination. If you don't have easy access to a psychiatrist I would recommend seeing your family doctor or going to your local "Free Clinic." If this voice is telling you to do things or commanding you in any way then you should go to the emergency room right away. It can be very scary when the mind plays tricks on you but you don't have to suffer alone. Get help and feel better.
Hello and welcome to Healthcare Magic. Thanks for your query.
You have mentioned two things here - about hearing voices and about your 'other personality' called Mandy. These symptoms are likely to be due to a psychotic illness. If you are hearing "mental voices" or having imaginary mental conversations or feel that you have an "alter" personality, then this could be indicative of a dissociative identity disorder (commonly known as multiple personality disorder).
A detailed history and a proper psychological assessment is necessary to ascertain the correct diagnosis. So, I would advise you to see a psychiatrist for a detailed evaluation and further treatment.
Wish you all the best.
