Hi, My Age Is 29 And I Am A Regular What Does My Blood Test Result Indicate?
Hi, my age is 29 and i am a regular smoker consuming around 16 to 18 cigretts a day. Few days back i got my blood test report which reported my SGPT value to be 68. Please guide me what could be the possible reason for this high value, and how much smoking is the reason in it?
Increased SGPT indicates liver injury. It is important to know bilirubin level,GGT level and viral markers.Ultrasound of abdomen should also be done. You need other investigations like routine hemogram,RBS,Complete LFT,RFT,Lipid profile. You should take tablet Ursodeoxycholic acid 300 mg twice daily for three months. It will help in regeneration of liver cells. Though smoking is not related to increased SGPT but you should quit it because it is not good for health at all. You should avoid fatty and junk food. Take lot of fruits an vegetables in your diet.
