High BP, Waking With Heavy Sweating And Vomiting At Night. Possible Reason?
Yes...my friend has been waking with profuse sweating and vomiting in the middle of the night just out of the blue. Only medical condition at age 58 is high blood pressure , no complaint of pain. Possibly may have passed out this last time it happened. I thought possibly she is dehydrated or/and maybe a stomach lesion or pyloric Sphinger lesion , something digestive should be ckecked out. Or electrolyte imbalance can u suggest? Help?????
Help her visit ER & get physically examined. Let her go through all the blood workouts (BUN, Creatinine levels, Blood sugar, CBC, NA/K levels) & Urinalysis.
She may need to go through tests to check heart functions (Echocardiogram, X-Ray, ECG, lipid profile, etc) & evaluate kidney(Imaging tests) & their arteries.
Her treatment will depend upon the severity of the pathology detected. Get her treated at the earliest, neglect will lead to complications like heart attack, kidney failure or stroke.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Nupur K, General & Family Physician
