Hip Pain, Back Spasms After Accident. Scan Shows Tendonopathy In Hip. Taken Steroid Injection. What Is Going On?

I was in a car accident in November 2012 (just a roll over - no collison - no air bags deployed). Since then I have developed severe pain in both hips as well as muscle spasms in my lower back. I've had a CT, MRI, X-Rays and a bone scan only to find out that I have mild tendinopathy in one hip. I was given an ultrasound lead steriod injection and told to go to physio to stretch out any scar tissue that may have developed. That was 2 months ago and I'm still in pain. What else could be going on?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The pain in the hip and the lower back is likely to be related to tendinopathy which is caused by inflammation of the tendons. Steroid injection locally is likely to help in the early improvement.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
