Hip Pain, Rises Up In Body. Has It Done Permanent Damage?

I lifed 2 very large heavy boxes through a narrow doorway into a store room. It was an awkward movement through and since then both of my hip bones have been in agony ..this is almost a week ago and I am still in pain. The pain rises up through my body and aches into my face. Have I done permanent damage? I am 56 a woman and only 5 feet 4 inches high / I am also weighing 13 stones and 5 lbs so I am over weight too

Hi,
You have probably pulled muscles in your hips that you don't usually put so much pressure on. The fact that the pain extends upwards probably reflects that you have strained abdominal and chest muscles as well.
It may help to rest if you can and take simple pain killers such as paracetamol and anti-inflammatories such as ibuprofen or similar.
