History Of UTI. Frequency Is Increased. On Cap. Niftran, Urispas. Why Is It Recurring?

Hi doc, my daughter aged 12 years has a history of UTI problem. Its been years together now. It comes and goes and the frequency has increased. during our visit to our family physician, she has been advised to take Cap. Niftran, 100 mg twice a day, Tab. Urispas 200 mg thrice a day and Syp. K-Cit thrice a day. can u please tell me why the UTI problem is recurring frequently

Hi,
It seems that this recurrent uti might be due to having poor local hygiene.
Teach her to maintain proper local hygiene.
Clean local parts while taking bath.
Avoid using public toilets.
If she started her period then teach keeping good hygiene during period.
For recurrence of uti go for urine culture and sensitivity test to know causative bacteria and specific medicine working against that bacteria.
Afterwards go for long specific antibiotic medicine course.
give her plenty of water.
Ok and take care.
