Hit The Bridge Of Nose Concrete Piece. Having Headache, Bruised And Swollen. What Should I Do?
The other night I was a bit drunk and fell forward and hit the bridge of my nose with great force on a concrete mantle piece. It did not bleed and I fell straight to sleep. It has been two days since and I keep getting awful headaches, it is bruised and swollen and I can't touch it or make facial expressions. What should I do?
Hello, Having headache after hitting your head is quite common and is not to be worried unless it is accompanied by confusion, disorientation, bleeding from nose or ears etc. Local swelling and bruise is common and can be taken care by regular local icing. As far as headache or pain is concerned, you may take ibuprofen 400 mg three times a day for few days. If you find that your nose is disfigured or swelling is not going down or if you start experiencing any unexplained drowsiness or confusion, you should immediately go to ER to have scan done to rule out any nasal fracture or signs of internal head injury. Thanks
