How Can I Reduce My Weight Doing Exercises Regularly And Having Proper Diet?

I am having trouble keeping weight off. A little history- I was a full blown anorexic for about a year; went from 135 lbs to about 90 lbs in a short amount of time. I recovered from that and then became slightly bulimic for a short time. I have fully recovered since. It has been about 3.5 years since i recovered and i am eating a very healthy diet- lots of fruits, vegetables, lean meats and i rarely eat processed foods or fried foods. I have always eaten a very healthy and balanced diet. I go out to eat from time to time and have sweets now and then but i don't do that enough to make me gain weight. I also get about 30-45 mins of exercise a day, 5 days a week, plus weight training here and there and i keep active. The problem is I seem to be gaining weight. I am 5'5 and at about 170 lbs (very unhealthy i know) right now and can't take weight off. I have also had blood work done to check my hormone (TSH, T3) levels but everything has came back normal. I'm just wondering if theres something i'm missing. Some kind of metabolic issue maybe? I am desperate to find some kind of answer!

Dear patient.
Greetings from health care magic!!! I am Dr Thakker and shall be answering your question.

I am a gym fanatic myself and can relate to your problem of gaining weight which doesn't seem to resolve. I will try my best to help you through this.

I have read your history in detail and I would like to make to following recommendations:

1) Perform high intensity interval training on a treadmill for 20 mins three times a week.

2) Supplementation with CLA and GLA. These are essential fatty acids which help mobilise body fat by different mechanism. CLA inhibits lipoprotein lipase and GLA raises metabolism and burns brown fat. you can consume 2 softgels of each twice a day for optimum results. CLA dose is 1000mg and GLA is 120 mg.

3) Performing afterburn workout for 10 mins daily in the morning after waking up on an empty stomach.

I hope this helps you out. If you have any more questions, please do not hesitate to write back to me.

Yours sincerely,
Dr Thakker.
