Hi my mother has recently been diagnosed with SCC in here breast and been told this is very rare, the doctors weren't exactly sure how to treat her so she had a mastectomy and was found to be in 7 of 11 lymph nodes, she has been given chemotherapy but told the cancer will come back somewhere else! Can you please advise what else can be done or is there any other treatment available? Thank you
Did she recieve adequate cycles of chemotherapy, if not please consult a medical oncologist.
Have a positive outlook and followup closely since there are chances for the cancer to come elsewhere. The same chance sticks to the standard breast cancer.
Regards

How Can Breast SCC Be Treated?
Since the evidence on treatment of SCC of breast is very scarce, predicting the outcome will be erroneous. She has to be kept under close followup to pick up recurrences local as well as in her axilla. Did she receive radiation, if not please consult a radiation oncologist. Did she recieve adequate cycles of chemotherapy, if not please consult a medical oncologist. Have a positive outlook and followup closely since there are chances for the cancer to come elsewhere. The same chance sticks to the standard breast cancer. Regards
