How Can Early Alzheimer's With Fatigue, Abdomen Pain And Diarrhea Be Managed?

My father is 75 and has just had a blood test that showed his CRP was 150 and his Hb was 8.4mmols. His condition at present is very early stages of alzheimers disease which he has been commenced on Aricept in february this year for. Over the last 7 weeks he has lost 2 stone in weight, is extremely tired and lethargic and very pale ( which I suppose you would expect with that low blood count!). He constantly complains of his guts rumbling and is experiencing a moderate amount of pain in his lower abdomen with constant bouts of loose motions (not quite diarrhoea) with no apparent blood, he has a long history of diverticulitis. Do you have any thoughts on his condition?

In my opinion patient needs to be first evaluated by a gastroenterologist for his abdominal symptoms, and his anemia (low Hb) needs to be managed. These symptoms are more likely to be linked to diverticulitis rather than Alzheimer's disease
