How Can Hand Injury Causing Thumb Swelling And Crepitus Be Treated?

A week a go I feel down and stuck my hand out to catch myself. The majority of my weight went on my right thumb and I heard two very lock pops. I think it might be a sprained. Currently i have some limited movement but my grip is very weak. There is still a lil swelling and when I DO bend my thumb a hear small popping noises. So far there is no bruising. What could it be?

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM
I have gone through your query. It is better to have an x ray of thumb to rule out a fracture. If no fracture then it is most likely a sprain. You should keep your thumb immobilized by a splint or bandage in both case.Ice application will be helpful in relieving pain and swelling. In case of fracture if stable it can be managed by a thumb spica bandage or frog splint.Hope this may help you.
Let me know if you have any further query.
