How Can Head Burning Pain Caused By Previous Trauma Be Treated?
In the week of May 9th, I came up under a towel rack and hit the top of my head quite hard. It hurt of course and the pain eventually went away in a day or so. On May 17th I developed a sharp burning pain at the top of my head and it has been consistant for two weeks now with a minor two day reprieve in between. There is nothing visible on the top of my head from the blow and the paid is starting to affect my sleep. What do you suggest? JP
I carefully read your question and would explain that your symptoms could be related to tension type headache or post-concussion headache.
As the headache is persistent and doesn't improve by painkillers, I would recommend consulting with your doctor for a physical check up and some tests:

How Can Head Burning Pain Caused By Previous Trauma Be Treated?
Hello! Welcome on HCM! I carefully read your question and would explain that your symptoms could be related to tension type headache or post-concussion headache. As the headache is persistent and doesn t improve by painkillers, I would recommend consulting with your doctor for a physical check up and some tests: - complete blood count for anemia - a brain CT scan to exclude possible delayed intracranial bleeding (subdural hematoma). I would also recommend you to closely monitor your blood pressure, because high blood pressure can trigger these symptoms. Hope to have been helpful! Best wishes, Dr. Aida
