Hello,

Your history suggests that you had some disturbance in your pregnancy resulting in some amount of bleeding at around sixteen weeks of pregnancy. It could be due to placental disruption, placenta previa, or cervical bleeding. Any bleeding during pregnancy, particularly with clot formation, is an event of concern. I would rule out placenta previa since there is clot formation.

Please get your ultrasonography done to assess the cause of this bleeding. If it is placental abruption, please report to your obstetrician and follow the treatment. If it was trivial and lower marginal separation of the placenta, and if the fetal heart sounds are normal, you have a good prognosis. Please get your blood pressure checked, rule out pre-eclampsia, and the other causes of placental abruption. You should take the treatment accordingly.

Primolut is a progesterone preparation which is of use when in the early stages of pregnancy their chance of unstable pregnancy due to corpus luteum deficiency. However, the use of progesterone always helps in stabilizing the pregnancy. Take folic acid along with. I will repeat again and urge you to rule out the placental origin of bleeding before you opt for only medicinal management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
