Hi, Noted your history of piece of apple getting stuck in throat, consulted Doctor, X-ray normal but the feeling of foreign body still there. The history indicates a possibility of the swallowed piece of apple causing an internal injury and thus the edema or so might have been still present and thus the feeling. Another cause is psychological meaning the feeling continues on in spite there is nothing there. X-ray would not really show anything unless the object is radio-opaque meaning can be detected on X-ray. Hence the best way is to get the endoscopy of the pharynx done by an ENT Surgeon. This will tell about he cause of feeling like any swollen part, edema or so. Barium swallow. If the reports are normal then the cause is psychological and thus not to be worried about.
