Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my father is having problems in both hands and speaking. his hands have been gradually inactive in a period of 6 years , muscles considerably weakened. local neurologists advice to get myelopathy operation of spinal cord (c4 to c7). my query is than what are the options to repair the damage and chances of recovery.
I think you should opt for a physiotherapist who can help him reduce the pain with therapeutic ultrasound therapy and TENS therapy. Also, teach exercise to improve muscle strength. The cervical collar will be good to avoid compression.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
