How Dangerous Is Adrenal Hematoma In Infant And How To Cure It ?

My baby is 7months old. But when he was 20 days he had high fever and was hospitalized. During the examinations the doctors asked us to do a sonography of the babies stomach followed by a CT Scan . The findings detected ADRENAL HEMATOMA . doctors have told us to get his sonography done after 6 months. I do not understand whether what to do? Kindly tell me how dangerous is his and what problems it may create in an infant

Pediatrician, Neonatology 's  Response
Good Morning!
Adrenal hematoma may occur in the neonatal period as a consequence of difficult labor or cauuse may not be evident. it occurs in 3 live birth/100,000. later it may cause calcification and may affect adrenal function but usually it gets resolved with in 3-6 months, hence a follow up usg required at 6 month of age.
Get an ultrasonography done and consult paeditrician/endocrinologist.
