Hello, and I hope I can answer your question.

The effects of the amount of HCG in the injections uses for the diet has not been studied in pregnancy, however HCG is normally produced by the placenta so I would imagine that it would not have a significant impact. Depo Provera can cause birth defects in male fetuses within the urinary tract, but it does not occur in the majority of cases. I suggest you get an ultrasound to confirm how far you are in your pregnancy and if the fetus is viable. I recommend discontinuing the HCG as the effects have not been studied during pregnancy, and have detailed ultrasounds to learn the fetus' gender and to screen for birth defects. Your OB doctor can advise you on the screening that you will need.

I hope this advice was helpful.

Best wishes, Dr. Brown
