How Effective Is The Day After Pill During Fertile Days?
How effective is the day after pill during fertile days? I had sex while i was in my most fertile days and the condom broke,so i took the day after pill 2 hours after. My breasts are slightly swollen so that made me think about the effectiveness of the pill. Is it more likely for me to end up getting pregnant due to the fact that this occurred during my fertile days or in other words, does the day after pill work as well during the ovulation period?
Please do not worry. The morning after pill is very effective. The efficacy is less of it is taken late or some women take it more than once in the ame cycle or a re already pregnant while taking the pill. It is effective in 97%-99% cases depending upon the timing. The pill prevents ovulation. If ovulation has already occured it delays sperms from going up and even if they go up it does not allow the baby to attach to the mother. So it acts in multiple ways at different levels.
Please do not worry. Your period may get delayed after the pill or may come early. Swollen breasts are a side effect of the pill so do not worry. Just wait till you get your period. If it is delayed more than 2 weeks then get a urine pregnancy test done to rule out pregnancy.
