How Is Cold And Cough With Fever Treated In Children ?
My boy is 18 mths old and weighing 11.8 kg. he is having cold and cough from past 10 days and having fever for past 2 days doctor hs prescribed monocef o 50 and flexon plz advice

continue monocef.better to stop flexon and use simple paracetamol syrup around 5ml 3 to 4 times per day.
you can also add one antihistaminic syrup under the guidance of your doctor.
try to improve your child food supplements which will enhance immunity.
maintain adequate hydration
he will be all right in 2 to 3 days

Hello,
Cough and cold in children is common as they are very much susceptible to infections. Majority of times its viral infections and they are superimposed with bacterial infections, so they are treated with antibiotics . Symptoms of your child will subside with this. No need to worry until your child is active, taking feeds regularly and breathing normally. If the symptoms persists or any of the above complaints appear then i advice you consult paedtrician and get one chest x-ray done.
