How Is Throat Tightness And Neck Discomfort Prevented ?
Hi, I have a tight feeling in my throat and discomfort in my right neck. I have been to an ENT who is organising a CT Neck. I got an OGD and barium swallow over six months ago which showed an indentation from annulus of the disc at c5/c6/c7 levels. I have an enlarged thryoid gland on right side also. Would you be able to help.
In my opinion you should undergo an Indirect laryngoscopic examination to exclude any laryngeal pathology. X-ray cervical spine ,thyroid function test and a throat swab culture to exclude any other abnormality.
It might help you.
regards.

Hi welcome to health care magic forum, Tight feeling in throat may be due to thyroid problem, infective pharyngitis or reflux pharyngitis (acid peptic disease) . Discomfort in neck may be due to cervical spondylitis or muscle spasm. Sometime both may be associated with each other. In my opinion you should undergo an Indirect laryngoscopic examination to exclude any laryngeal pathology. X-ray cervical spine ,thyroid function test and a throat swab culture to exclude any other abnormality. It might help you. regards.
