It is encouraging that you feel symptoms of pregnancy, however the hormones you were receiving prior to your harvest can also cause similar side effects. I know it is difficult after all you go through to do IVF but you really need to wait the two weeks to do an accurate test to confirm pregnancy. There can be a small amount of pregnancy hormone produced by the embryo even before implantation, so if you test too early you may have a positive test but unless it continues to develop, the hormone will go down and you will get a normal period.
Nothing can be done to prevent a miscarriage, so you just need to wait and see what happens. I know that is difficult, but only a pregnancy that lasts will give you a baby, and it takes time to allow it to develop enough to accurately determine if the pregnancy took and is viable.
I wish you the best of luck and hope the treatment was successful.
Take care, Dr. Brown
