How Long Can The Loss Of Taste And Smell Senses Be Prevalent Due To Severe Cold?

Hi - I have had a cold since last Saturday & my sinuses are completely blocked but it feels like not alot of cold left! I still feel lousy though & my taste & smell have completely gone. I m a bit concerned they won t come back? How long usually before they do after a cold? Thanks, Mel

The loss of sense of smell and taste are interlinked. The loss of one leads to the loss of the other. And the loss of smell wil lprobably return after your sinusitis has completely resolved.

This is an infection and as long as the infection is there, the symptoms are there. Maybe the nasal congetsion gas reduced and that is why you are feeling better.

Let the sinusitis resolve and then the symptoms will reduce
