How Long Does A Lump On Ankle Take To Go Away Caused By Sprain?

Helloo about two weeks ago I sprained my ankle, had severe pain when I applied weight on it. Now I have full range in motion and can walk. But for some reason I have a lump on the side of my ankle. Should I keep walking on it or wait forthe lump to go away? How long does the lump stay?

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM
I have gone through your query.Your problem is most likely sprain or strain associated with haematoma which gives the impression of lumpiness. In case of haematoloma it will taken some time to get absorbed. For some it take 2 weeks and some even 4 weeks. As you had pain while loading it is better to have an examinatrion with orthopedician and an X ray if needed to rule out any hair line fracture. If no such problem then you can return to your normal activity. And you can apply mild heat to swelling to speed up absorption in this stage.Hope this may help you.
Let me know if you have any further query.
