How Long Does Bleeding After Abortion Last?
I am an 18 year old female and I am currently in college. I recently found out I was pregnant and got an abortion on May 8, 2010. After the abortion I was cramping but it soon stopped. I then notice after 3 days of the abortion I started to bleed. I I have been bleeding every since and I am trying to get some advice on whether how long I should be bleeding and how much. I read up on abortion forums and they were saying how your period comes on 4-6 weeks after the abortion. I do I know when im bleeding for the abortion or if it's just my period? I really dont know what to do because it was my first pregnancy and I am completely lost. I will appreciate any advice you give me.

Understand your concern
Menstruation bleeding feature: it is less in quantity compere to abortion bleeding. And in abortion bleeding along with blood fetal tissue will be passed.
Normally bleeding will start 30-45 minute after using last pill and bleeding will remain for 4-6 days, it gradually decrease in quantity. And maximum stops in 7 days. But in your case bleeding will started after 3 days but if it is passed with fetal tissue , it is abortion bleeding.
You should consult the gynecologist and require vaginal examination to confirm it. You should do USG to confirm incomplete abortion for safe practice. Incomplete abortion is treated by D & C.
sO DO NOT CONFUSE , cONSULT THE gynecologist and problem will solved.
