my wife was diagnosed with schizophernia and was put on antipsychotics from last september 2011 with 15mg of olanzapine daily and weekly clopixol 200mg depot preparation. she started having tremor and rigidity from last week which was diagnosed as drug induced parkinsonism(DIP). she was asked tto stop all the antisychotics and was prescribed with tab parkin 2mg daily twice for 15 days. the tremors and stooping with increased salivation and confused state of mind does perssist now. how long does it to take to rverse the DIP and does using parkin as such cause confusion .

How Long Does It Take To Reverse DIP?
Hi Dear Parkin is anticholinergic medication which is very useful to control symptoms like tremor, rigidity and salivation. yes sometimes it causes confusion in some cases. but what about clopixiol depot?? why it is given weekly?? it usually given every 21 days. if it is given weekly than difficult to control all this symptoms with parkin. Change in medicine is necessary. consult your psychiatrist and discuss ab that. Thank you.
