How Long The Medication Should Be Taken To Cure Urticaria?
My wife 44 yrs suffering with urticaria/angeiodemma since 2 yrs. she is on prednisole 20 mg + allegra 180 mg. How long she must continue these drugs. There is no relief because angeiodemma episode are frquenty seen on throat/tongue/cheeks and lips. Pl advise.
I have gone through your query and can understand..
As per your complain as your wife is suffering from urticaria and angioedema that are signs of allergic reaction then the first thing that has to be done is to consult an Allergist and get an allergic testing done and certain tests like Patch test, RAST test and food challenge test will be advised to you to rule out the exact allergen so that she can avoid exposure to that allergen.. As you will not be exposed allergic symptoms will not appear.. He can also start an Immunotherapy that will help in reducing the severity as well as frequency of allergic symptoms that are urticaria and angioedema..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
