How Long Will It Take For The Sutures To Dissolve And Lip Swelling To Reduce?
NHi, I had my lip reduction last week dated dec 10, and i can see that the dissolvable sutures is starting to dissolve. When is the sutures will completely remove because its all becoming black and my lips is still swelling and i didnt notice the changes of my reduction. Thanks
Hi. Lip reductions are seen only after the swelling is settled and takes from weeks to months to settle. If there is more problem , your Doctor may suggest you to take oral steroids, take then in a reducing doses to settle the swelling fast. You can request the Doctor or His assistants to remove the sutures . You do not have to carry them or wait for dissolution if it is more than a week. It takes different days for every case to get dissolved.
thanks for your query, the absorbable sutures will take 7-10 days to dissolve completely and it varies from material used. but complete dissolution by proteolytic engymes takes 90days...swelling of the lips could be because of inflammation or secondary infection do a saline gargling....consult your doctor if it persists still...
