Absence of foetal pole in the gestational sac is called as blighted ovum. In such condition, the pregnancy is non-viable. This pregnancy does not grow since there is no baby inside the sac.

On ultrasonography, such sac appears with a corrugated margins due to absence of pressure from within.

Such pregnancies usually get aborted, if not may require termination of pregnancy.

Please follow the advice of your Obstetrician regarding the blighted ovum.

Whatever happens to this pregnancy, please do not ignore your hypothyroidism. Hypothyroidism is known to get worsened during pregnancy and also known to cause abortions. Please get your thyroid function investigated and start the treatment as per requirements with the help of your Obstetrician.

Do not loose your heart. With thyroid management and any other treatment if needed you can have a normal pregnancy in future.
