How Safe Is Taking Penicillin For Pain And Stiffness In Jaw?

I had an abscessed #31 and impacted #32 removed on Tuesday. Got it checked Thursday and it looked fine. Now, Friday and Saturday, the tonsil on the same side is HUGE. Its hurts very bad to swallow. Im also having pain/stiffness in my jaw and the base of my tongue when i move them. I started taking penicillin on Friday to stave off infection and have been on OTC pain aids since the extraction. Now, its Saturday, and I need to figure out whether to get some urgent medical help or hope i can last the next 2 days.

Hello read through your query accordingly i must say that there is nothing to be worried in this. Its just as usual to have inflammation in tonsils and lymphnodes after extraction.I suggest you to take antibiotics prsecribed by ur doctor on time regularly.(do not skip any)and also taking antibiotics for one twon days cant remove infection it takes the whole course of antibiotic prescribed to remove the infection. So please do follow them. Also try to avoid too hot foodstuffs and avoid having hard food with that side of extraction.Do salt water gargle atleast 6 times daily(for a faster healing).Do not touch with tongue or hand on the extracted area.Follow these for few days and it will be relieved. If after few days it still persists meet up ur dentist get it treated.Hope ur benefittted something from this reply.Have a healthy day!!!
