How Should Wrist And Ulna Pain Be Further Treated?

i am 66ys old and broke by radius and ulna at the wrist 6 months ago. was in plaster ( no operation ) for 8 weeks therafter in splint for 4 weeks. wrist very painful cannot turn and swell up during the day. dr suggested not to operate because its the left arm/wrist. what can i do?
