How Soon Into A Pregnancy Can A DNA Test Be Taken To Determine Paternity?

Hi my daughter last menstrual cycle was September 16. I would like to know how many weeks she has pregnant. The pregnancy test came out positive. Also, I would like to know how many weeks of pregnancy she has to have to make an ADN test. She is a teenager and her boyfriend said that is not his. I want to know

Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
Based on the LMP ( last menstrual period ) of September 16, she would be 13 weeks pregnant on 16th of December.
The earliest test involving DNA paternity, can be done as early as 10 - 12 weeks.
This involves chorionic villus sampling.
AMniocentesis can be done from 16 - 18 weeks.
Postnatal tests also can be done, these have the advantage of being non invasive.
The antenatal ones are invasive.
