How To Control Sugar Level While Having Type 1 Diabetes?
I am 29 years old man. I have type 1 diabetes and also insulin dependent. I take insulin dose three time 1.10 unit in morning before breakfast. 2. 12 unit at noon before lunch. 3. 16unit at night before dinner. I have check my sugar regular at every week. Today I have check my sugar and notice as below. 1. 312 morning before breakfast 7.26am 2. 91 after noon after 2 hour of lunch 3.20pm 3. 149 evening before dinner 8.14pm Please give your advice to control my sugar. Thank you.
Dear Sir, Welcome to HCM, I understand your concern. Your fasting sugars are quite high. There is a drop in sugars after lunch and pre dinner values are marginally high. I presume you have sent us the rapid acting insulin dosages. What about the Long acting insulin? For any Type 1Diabetes patient the sugar control is very important. Your fasting values can be brought down by using long acting insulin like glargine. Once fasting values are tackled then post prandial values can be managed by minor dose adjustments with rapid acting insulin. Hope i have answered your query Come back for any further queries.
