hi i've been used epiduo for 1 year but in september i desided to stop it because my acne was better! the problem is that my acne problem became worse so i started epiduo again! MY skin is going to be worse for the first 3 weeks as it was like the first time i started the epiduo?
Epoduo gel is a wonderful antiacne medicine, it is a combination two of the most effective antiacne medicines, Adapalene and Benzoyl peroxide. The combination is antibacterial, antiinflammatory, keratolytic and is therefore effective in acne.
The flare usually does'nt happen with this combination because while Adapalene can cause the deep comedones to resurface during the early part of treatment, benzoyl peroxide present in the combination wont allow them to flare. This is the beauty of this combination. The only downside is the potential for irritation.
However, in eople who have inflammatory acne, I usually start them on oral antibiotics as well e.g either doxycycline or azithromycin to suppress the flare.
regards
