hi, my name is Roy, i am 20 years of age and suffer from Chest acne and have for about 4 years now., But not only do i suffer from the acne i also suffer from these small white bumps under my skin all around where my acne comes in. it often itches and as times goes by it seems i get more of these bumps. it is a major effect on my self esteem and is holding me back in life. i feel disgusting and i don't want to feel this way anymore.. so if you know of any un-costly ways to treat this or can just give me an idea of what it is and if it will go away i'd appreciate it. (i've done some research and thought maybe Follicular macular atrophy)
Acne is caused due to a combination of 4 factors: 1. Increased production of sebum from sebaceous glands in the skin 2. Increase proliferation of cells & blockage of these glands 3. Inflammation. 4. Bacterial infection.
The treatment depends on the severity. Usually we recommend a combination of treatment with topical retinoids at night and application of benzoyl peroxide gel on the pimples in the morning. If the severity is more, antibiotics like Clindamycin or Doxycycline are recommended.
Also avoid oily foods, drink lots of water & maintain good hygiene.
Wishing you a good health. Take care.
