Hi, My kid is 13 months old. He is suffering cold for past 2 days with severe nose blockage. My doctor suggested to give chericof 2.5ml thrice a day for 5 days. I found that content added in chericof is banned in many countries due to serious side effect it has. Is it safe to continue?
Personally, I will not recommend that you administer an anti-tussive to a toddler. Cold in toddlers is managed by controlling the symptoms and regular nasal lavage to unblock the nostrils with normal saline. Tylenol would relief fever. Also, increase water intake and a long as the baby can eat and play well, the body would fight its way out of this infection. Talk to the doctor and consider stopping this drug.
I hope this helps. I wish you well.
