How To Cure Frequent Stomach Pains?

My son is 23 yr old, he has had stomach pains off and on for about 4 months. The pain was on the top part of his stomach but now it moved to the right lower side and back side also. we went to a G I dr. and they said it was IBS, and sent him home with medicine. Thats just candy coating the problem, what should I do?

Hi,

In such chronic pain since 4 months, if suitable endoscopy can be done to do a further workup.

The small ulcer or gastritis also can lead to pain.

Rabeprazole can be prescribed empirically until than.

If no cause found and anxiety issue associated than irritable bowel syndrome can be possible.

I suggest you consult a gastroenterologist for detailed evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
