Hello, I am 21 years old and I am having sinusitis problem from last 7 years and because of sinusitis I am facing severe headaches almost 5 days a week especially when I get up from the sleep. I use Rinoclenil sometimes and it gives me relieve from the pain. Should I continue to use it on routine basis? or using this spray in long run can create problems for me?
You may surprised to know that the diagnosis of Sinus Headache is the MOST INCORRECTLY DIAGNOSED type of headache of all the major types. Migraineheadaches often mimic sinusitis which is where the confusion lies. The simple way to prove the validity of this statement is to see how inconsistently sinus treatments actually work. Any medication that has less than a 95% efficacy rate in treating a headache should always be questioned as to its actual impact on the headache being treated. The actual published figure of patients who TRULY SUFFER from SINUS origin headaches (meaning acute sinusitis) is on the order of about 0.5% of all diagnosed headaches. Therefore, based solely upon the aforementioned facts my first question to you is whether or not you have a VERIFIED DIAGNOSIS OF SINUS HEADACHES. If your medication is not consistently working (and even if it is...guess what, steroids have antimigrainous properties as well so it may actually be treating your MIGRAINE headaches) as I mentioned above then, that's the first clue that your diagnosis may not be correct.
