My son aged 23 years height 5 4 and weight 58 Kgs has been diagnosed with tuberculosis of the parotid gland. He has been prescribed with 1. R-Cinex 2. Combutol (1000) 3. PZA (750) 4. Beplex 1tab twice a day. He has started the treatment on 16th April and is experiencing continuous headache. Also he takes Tab Dolo-650 thrice a day as he also gets fever. However today, he woke up with migraine headache accompanied with vomiting twice. Please advise is this a usual side effect and what can be used to control the headache.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Read and understood your history about your son. He is suffering from tuberculosis of the parotid gland and is under the proper treatment of R-Cinex, Combutol 1000 PZA 750 and Beplex. Take Dolo 650 for fever and headache. Has a severe headache with vomiting. This is not a side effect of the anti-tubercular treatment.
The most probable cause of headache can be tuberculosis in the brain or its coverings. I would advise him the following: MRI of the brain. Spinal fluid analysis Review test of blood and urine, liver function tests.
Once the reports will be available and have an opinion of the Neurologist to get a proper diagnosis and treatment.
