Dear Doctor as far as I know NNDDM could be due to
1) insulinn deficiency due to non production by the pancrease or
2) failure of the target cells to take up insulin though there is normal secretion of insulin by the pancrease. my question is how to differentiate the two? Thanks. My email: YYYY@YYYY
HELLO THANX FOR USING HCM,
Insulin resistance is resulted when body cells are not able to take up own insulin which is main characterstic in type 2 diabetes which usually occurs in middle age or old age groups and also characterstics feature in obesity.
if there is no insulin production from pancreas its categorised in type 1 diabetes where we replace insulin demands from outside in the form of insulin injections usually seen in early age groups with severe weight loss.
