How To Get Rid Of Pain Due To Trapped Nerve In Groin?

My partner has a trapped nerve which seems to emanate from his groin area. He has seen a consultant who has prescribed pain killers. These don't seem to be doing very much to ease the pain. He has a appt to see the consultant again after Christmas. Is there anything else he can do? Mick
