How To Get Rid Of The Severe Neck Pain With A Big Lump Growing On Top Of Spine At Neck Joint ?
Hi I have had a severe bad neck for ten years and I mean the pain can get unbearable and affects my every day life. I had an mri scan bout four years ago but showed nothing. I have taken pain killers every day often taken four at a time where the pain so bad. I now have a fairly big lump growing on the top of my spine on the left side where the neck joins the skull. I cant go on with this pain anymore
Hi there. Your symptoms point towards a disease known as Potts Spine ....meaning Tuberculosis of the spine, although this might be very uncommon in your area. Get a fresh MRI done as I understand that the previous one is quite old. Get blood tests like TB gold test and complete blood count done and get the results evaluated. Your Ortho surgeon might have to aspirate the swelling and start you on antitubercular drugs if results are positive. Good part is that Tuberculosis is 100 % curable. Final decision will depend on result of MRI. good luck.
