Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband can feel gas coming up out of his stomach. When he burps it up, it smells like rotten eggs. He also has a cough, but no phlegm. He begins to cough when he feels the gas coming up. His stomach does not hurt. His breathing is not labored. He is running a slight fever (100 degrees)
Thanks for contacting HCM. Looks like your husband is suffering from H.pylori infection with gastritis and esophageal reflux. There may be a component of gastric erosions or ulcers. Please give him following medicines:- 1. Ciprofloxacin with tinidazole twice daily for 7 days. 2. Rabeperazole with domperidone SR once daily morning on empty stomach. 3. Famotidine 40 mg at bed time. 4. Antacid syrup 20ml three times a day. 5. Paracetamol tab for fever Give him plenty of cold milk and vanilla icecream. Avoid spices and fried food. He should take his dinner atleast 2 hours before dinner and dinner should be lite. He needs to exercise regularly once fever subsides. Regards
