How To Heal IV Injection Attempt Mediated Swollen And Painful Hand?

Attempted if hypodermic injection with benadryl for headache. Don t think I hit the vein and did im instead. Area on hand where I attempted iv quickly became swollen and painful. Been using ice but has not gone down several hours later. Is this dangerous?

From the description of your problem, it could be potentially dangerous. The potential dangers could be an local infection / abcess, which sometimes can spread to the bloodstrem, resulting in more serious complications.

As you haven't seen any improvement after trying home remedies, I would recommend that you see a doctor as early as possible. You will need a proper examination and further treatment accordingly.

Also, please remember that practices of self-injecting medication are unsafe and dangerous. So, please refrain from such practices in the future.
