36, Male. Just got my Lipid Panel numbers - Total Cholesterol: 227 TGL: 200 HDL: 46 LDL: 141 CHD: 4.93 All other numbers are fine. Is this a cause of concern? if yes, what should i do to reduce those numbers? (alcohol - 3-4 drinks once in 2/3 weeks, high non-vegetarian diet, no smoking) Thanks.
Thanks for your question on HCM. In my opinion the troublesome for you is low HDL and high LDL level. HDL is good for health and it should be more than 50. And LDL is atherogrnic and dangerous to health. It dhould be less than 100. Follow these steps to control your lipids. 1. Stop alcohol immediately. 2. Take healthy, low fat, lowcholefood.if possible avoid non veg food. 3. Regular exercise is must. 4. Start tab atorvastatin and recheck after 1 month.
