Hi, Thanks for asking. Based on your clinical history and query, my opinion is as follows: 1. Alcohol is one of the causes of raised GGT. Post hepatic biliary obstruction are common causes. 2. It causes bile duct cells injury, which causes the GGT to release into blood stream and so your levels are high. 3. Other liver disorders also needs to be ruled out.
