How To Manage Elevated Serum Levels In A Diabetic?

Dear Dr -I am writing to u from UAE-I shall be oblized if it is possible to help me in giving advise for my mother who is 67 years old and is diabetic for the past 25 years-she had been on B12 suppliments for diabetic neuropathy problem-her investigation for serum B12 levels showed very high serum levels of B12(4800)-please help me in giving advise as what should be the management and what other investigations should be done- best regards...)

As-salamu alaykum,I can understand your concern.
i am very sorry for condition of mother.
In my opinion as mama is on the medication with B12 supplementation it might be the reason for increased amount of B12 in serum.
the levels will be even more in case of intramuscular injections.
i suggest to repeat the testing after 10 days without taking any supplementation.
