Hello,
I have gone through your query and understand your concern.
Other than
diabetes, there are some rare conditions which can decrease your blood sugar are
1. Diseases that affect the pancreas, liver, kidneys,
adrenal glands, or other organs.
2.
Metabolism problems that run in families.
3. Drinking too much of alcohol.
4.
Malnutrition.
Thus you need go undergo further evaluation to rule out these by complete physical examination and investigations like
1. Overnight fasting test- in this test, you will be asked not to eat for over night and blood sugar and insulin levels will be checked
2. Prolonged supervision test- in this test, you will be asked to fast until the symptoms of moderate
low blood sugar develop, or until your blood glucose levels drop below 45 mg/dL.
If at the end of 72 hours you do not have low blood sugar, you may be asked to exercise for 30 minutes. This test also can help determine why confirmed hypoglycemia is occurring.
Your blood is drawn at regular intervals to monitor how well your body controls blood sugar levels. In addition to blood sugar we have to check, insulin level and C- Peptide( Part of insulin) levels and urine ketone levels.
Do complete
Complete blood count, Liver function test, Renal function test etc.
You may have condition called reactive or
alimentary hypoglycemia. in this condition, rapid emptying of the stomach after a meal. This can be diagnosed by ingestion of radio labeled proteins and interval imaging.
some times these type of hypoglycemia may be caused by pancreatic tumours.
These can be detected by CT and MRI abdomen.
Please do all the investigation and get properly diagnosed for the cause your hypoglycemia.
If the cause is identified and treated, new episodes of hypoglycemia can be prevented and you may have healthy and your own life style.
Hope this helps.
