How To Overcome Dependency On Drugs?

I am taking Drego-D twice in a day(one in morning and one in evening before taking breakfst/meal). It has been 6 months, and i am feeling wonderful can you tell me how much time it will take to cure it completely.. because i am feeling like my life is depend on this medicine, if i forgot to take medicine even in one time then i feel like hell. And one more thing, if i have got some tension or catching a flight (in work or on private matter) then i fell a bit more heart burn and full of gas in stomach. I am also taking drugs to sleep in the night for last one year to cure claustrophobia , and doctor also suggested that I have metabolic syndrome for which taking Sugamet MC 500 twice daily. I don t understand what has really happened to my life. in the age of 42 I am fully living my life on drugs . Pls advise properly. Regards, XXXXXXX

By this measure a lot of people (and me) are dependent on their medications.
This is a very good reflux/nausea/heartburn medication. It doesn't cause addiction in the way that abused drugs do (heck, I doubt any of it gets into the brain). BUT
1) The underlying conditions of reflux are basically permanent and if you stop medication, the symptoms return. (true of hypertension, diabetes, baldness, low thyroid...most everything I treat are life-long-on-medication-conditions)
2) The body MIGHT be overcompensating due to the medication. Acid secreting hormones can go higher if acid is blocked by Drego; gut motion might be set to run higher with it also. Antacids will NOT help this. Ranitidine... might or might not
