Hi,I am Neethu Vipin (Dietitian & Nutritionist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my daughter is extremely overweight. 5 8 297 pds. i am very concern for her well being. she has polycyctic ovarian syndrome and she is boarder line diabetic. doctor has her on the pill cause her testostrim is very high. also put her on a medication to help her lose weight, and I believe a water pill. she was very nauseous, dizzy and did not feel well on the medication, also taking a diabetic pill. I have to mention she was a kidney reflux baby who suffered lower lobe scaring on the right kidney and had the bilateral implantation performed at the age of 9. She is also a mother with a 2 in half and the weight came on slowly after the birth of my grandson. Since she went on the medication she lost 10 pds, mostly fluid. I want to take her and get her established at the cleveland clinic. can you recommend a doctor that could orchestrate her care?

How To Reduce Overweight?
Hi, Welcome to HCM! I understand your concern. The foremost measures that should be taken by you are diet control and physical exercises. There are some drugs available to reduce weight/obesity. Weight loss medicines include orlistat, phentermine, lorcaserin, and phenteramine plus topiramate. However, these drugs alone will never be effective. You have to have a right combination of these drugs, diet and exercises along with other activities like Yoga. You might also want to rule out any cause of Obesity like Hypothyroidism or Diabetes. Hope this information helps .Feel free to ask if you have any doubts. With warm regards, Dr. Sridhar Reddy
