Your symptoms are suggestive of a local musculo-skeletal pain, probably costochondritis. The fact that the pain is modulated by certain body positions goes in favor of a musculo-skeletal pain.
Anyway, I would recommend consulting with your attending physician for a physical exam and some tests: - A chest X-ray study - Complete blood count, PCR, ESR - A resting ECG - Blood electrolytes
You should discuss with your doctor on the above tests.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
